Music therapy is a process in which a music therapist uses music and its physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual aspects to improve a patient's mental and physical well-being. It is a complementary therapy to other medical treatments. Essentially, music therapists help patients improve their health in several areas, including cognitive function, motor skills, emotional and social skills, and quality of life, by using musical techniques such as improvisation, singing, and listening to achieve therapeutic goals.
Music can be used as a tool for self-development by increasing an individual's dynamism, improving their perception, concentration, and creativity, as well as enhancing their memory.
