In this fast- era of technology and constant connection through screens, you, Generation- Z, are living in a world full of stimuli, opportunities, and endless choices. Yet many of you express a strange inner feeling… emptiness. Despite being busy, despite being constantly connected, the emptiness is still there, along with a continuous question asking yourself where to go and what do I Want. What is feeling of emptiness? Feeling of emptiness, Generation- Z, is a psychological state in which a person feels that their life lacks meaning, purpose, or deep emotions. Some people describe it as a sense of pointlessness, constant boredom, loss of passion, or inner feeling that “something is missing” without knowing exactly what it is. Emptiness does not necessarily mean that a person is doing nothing. A person may be busy all the time, but feel internally disconnected from what they are doing. Why does Generation -Z feel emptiness more than others? Abundance of choices and loss of direction: Generation- Z grew up in a world full of endless options and fields. New jobs appear every day, different lifestyles, and alternative paths. But having many choices does not always bring peace of mind, Sometimes it leads to confusion, hesitation, and fear of choosing the “wrong” path. Here, many young people of you Generation-Z feel as if you are standing in the middle of the road with no clear direction. Ongoing comparisons on social media: Social media often presents others’ lives in an idealized way, continuous success, non-stop traveling, perfect relationships, and fast achievements. All of this can make Generation- Z feel that their own lives are ordinary, that they have not achieved anything important, and that they are falling behind. At this point, a gap forms between reality and what is seen on screens. This gap often turns into feelings of emptiness. Shallow relationships instead of deep connections: Although Generation -Z is digitally connected, conversations have become shorter, relationships faster, and communication sometimes more light. The lack of deep, supportive relationships can make a person feel misunderstood and emotionally disconnected from others—connected online, but lonely in real life. Psychological and economic pressures: Generation -Z is growing up in a world full of challenges: rising costs of living, pressure for early success, high social expectations, and difficulty finding stable jobs. All of these issues can increase and enhance feelings of emptiness. How does Feeling of emptiness appear? Endless and ongoing boredom, even during fun and entertaining, Difficulty in focusing and distraction, with Spending long hours on the phone with no purpose. Loss of passion for things that used to be fun. Feelings of loneliness, disconnected. How can Generation- Z deal with “Feeling of emptiness”? Seek small purpose before the big goal, Reduce comparisons on social media: Remember that what you see online is a chosen part of life. Limit your screen time if it causes pressure for you. Follow realistic and inspiring accounts: Focus on building real relationships, not only digital ones, Try new things or new hobbies, Sports, skill, or a creative activity, sometimes emptiness comes from routine. Accept that feeling empty is a natural phase: It does not mean your life is a failure or that you are weak. Sometimes it is a transitional stage or the beginning of positive change. Final message to Generation- Z If you feel empty, that does not mean your life has no meaning. Sometimes emptiness is the space that comes before fulfillment.
